Missing in action

Sun Apr 10, 2005, 11:24 PM
:tunes: Last Exile, MGS3 FLCL and The Pillows + Luna Sea
Genre: Jrock/OST
Mood: :spyed:

Arrgh, I've been away too long from DA for at least a month or two. This sort of thing always happens every now and then hehe. Well, with the amount of time I have its a miracle I can browse and interact here especially in the next month or so due to the exams - but I'll hang around for the time being - I miss this community so much  (not kidding!).

Anyway, for the "Dear Journal" part, this is what's developed during my time of absence...

Quests
I started playing D&D (dungeons and dragons) together with my mates - I've been playing RPGs for years now, each and everyone with a different playing system but this one, is played on a completely new level. Anyway, the party consists of 3: a half-elf chaotic neutral Bard, a half-orc Neutral Good Cleric and me myself and I the halfling chaotic neutral Rogue. Its quite an interesting party with quite interesting outcomes. At least nobody has died yet :evillaugh: Currently venturing in an underground mining cavern searching for the cause of the plague that afflicted a nearby village...

Anime
Yes, more anime, I've been hooked more than ever now. I've finished wathcing BECK, Tenjou Tenge and currently watching Monster, Samurai Champloo, Naruto (of course), Bleach...etc.

Music
Some years ago I listened to Rock music and that was it. After I picked up the guitar I started looking at music from a different perspective - since then I've been open to all kinds of music (except Hiphop, R&B, Trance etc...).

J-Rock - While not being a new style of music in itself, its definitely on a level of its own. I totally love to hear japanese bands like The Pillows, Glay, Luna sea, X-Japan, The Brilliant Green - their sound is unique and the melody inspires me.

OSTS - "Beautiful Fields" on Last Exile OST (Disc2) is such a beautiful song.

Terra
I've detached myself from digital art lately - currently I'm waiting for something to give me renewed interest in digital landscaping and thats TG2.

and btw, I *still* want to visit japan, and *still* apparently want to lead around 17 lives. Too bad we only have one at our disposal.

January February Crisis

Sun Jan 23, 2005, 12:31 AM
Currently Listening: Everything including Jet, The Thrills, The Stills, Travis, Dave Matthews, Coldplay, Franz Ferdinand...
Genre: Rock / Alt
Mood: :stupidme:

Its exam time for me and this means a couple of things:
:pointr: I won't do or submit a thing in the next couple of weeks - this doesn't mean I won't be watching your deviations :)
:pointr: I will have to study
:pointr: I will have to pray even more

:excited: Hey... 2K page views... Hard to think my humble scenery wallpapers have made it this far! THANKYOU for your support, comments and favorites

:bored: I got a bit bored doing the same thing and routine so I think I'll be having a look at vectoring in the future as well. I've started to vector something allready but after the base layer, it looks more like an abomination than what it really should be!

:tunes: I'm also planning on buying a portable mp3 player after the exams are over... Now, I know iPod is the favorite :sing: but I was thinking its more of an mp3 player for the mainstream... I was thinking more on the Creative Zen 30-40GB model... Anybody with suggestions or reccomendations is most welcome!

Take care
and watch out for the One-legged Schoolgirl haha :evillaugh:

Coming in September

Sat Jul 24, 2004, 9:33 AM
Currently Listening: The Darkness
Genre: Rock (Classic/British)
Mood:

Seriuosly, you people should crucify me - I haven't said a word in a decade now and I rarely check on DA lately... BUT in my defence let me say I have been busy - Work, guitar, computing, life, comedy channel, Terry Pratchett, ps2, gaming (oh how I LOVE IT)... so much stuff to do and I can't cope. Well this circle of death will continue up until september (fingers crossed) when the temperature will finally cool down a bit (translation: my ancient laptop will function for long periods of time without the breakdown from overheating).

I sincerely hope 2 things:
to get hooked in this community once again
get to see a piece of the stuff I've missed
regain my sanity...hey, thats 3 things

I would like to thank those who left comments and critics (of whom they have yet to be answered and those who added of faved my devs - I sincerely appreciate it and I will get back to you...in september!)

Take care you guys

Ooops I did it again...!

How many times does this happen to you? You sware something is not going to happen again, you say you'll try to avoid repeating the same mistake and voila, it happens right in your face (not because of the ill probability of life but because its your fualt).

Well, I happened again. Indeed. Imagine pitting a mature dragon (might I add multi-hued) against a warior (who btw, in Zangband has NO CHANCE of winning the game) with no armour, a broken dagger (swords are quite rare these days) and a severe case of forgetfulness. That will pretty much describe my current state with the upcoming exams...

I haven't been active in the last month and god knows how much stuff I've missed - I can't say a lot for now other than the fact that I have to lots of stuff to make it through those exams (of which I must thank a particular freind of mine for helping me out).

In the mean time I'll continue doing some 'work', listening to Japanese rock/metal, watching anime and heck, start figuring out what I"m going to do with my life. I'll be back someday to answer some stuff I was meant to answer and I'd like to thank those who faved or left comments on my stuff - Cheers

For a change

Mon May 3, 2004, 9:08 AM
Currently Listening: Elastica - Waking Up
Genre: JRock
Mood:

Ok. So I've been watching a lot of anime lately and I think I'll stop rendering landscapes for a while...again I may screw what I said in the previous sentence but then again I may not. :) I've seen loads of great anime - FLCL, Shingetsutan Tsukihime and Onegai Teacher... and basically got addicted. I've also got hold of Painter8 and maybe I'll give it a try at inking and painting something anime in the future. Heck, it would be interesting to paint some scenery too - very interesting...Anyway, take care you guys
